Vicky Danes is a contradicting photographer who produces images to make the world look picturesque and idyllic, but through text, represents the real issues in the world, such as murder, suicide and rape. Vicky was influenced by artists such as Paul Seawright and Sophie Calle, as well as stories in the daily news and contributions from the public. The first five images are from the project ‘Memoirs’, where randomly selected strangers were asked to divulge a tragic secret from the past. The last five images are of murders committed in woodlands.
