Samuel has been photographing his experience as a passing figure in foreign landscapes over a number of years. Recording his isolation, wonder and relationships to his changing environment.

He works primarily using compact camera’s allowing him to photograph as he see’s, without having ultimate control over the image.
Primarily now working with moving images, although continues his mostly documentary style still image making. He is heavily influenced by the poetry in Shunji Iwai’s films, Rinko Kawauchi’s delicacy and Moriyama’s ambiguity.
Samuel has also had commercial work published in various magazines in China.
