With themes surrounding notions of identity and a passion for constructing the image, Nicola Belson has explored gender roles through the styling of the male and female siblings in the series titled ‘s/he’. With inspiration taken from both art and fashion photography, this series seems to exists between the two genres. Nicola is predominantly a portrait photographer with more recent work exploring ethnicity within Britain today however, other areas of photography, including interiors are also a major interest of hers. She enjoys working within the studio environment, therefore studio lighting exist within the majority of her work. Nicola lives in Oxford and is within commutable distance to London.
