“I have used Photography as a therapeutic tool to help me get through difficult times in my life. My Dad died suddenly in 2005 and my life was turned upside down, taking photos helped me to remember him and made me think and look very differently at the world. In May 2006 I made a project about Masons and photographed a Masonic lodge in Berkshire. This was very influential to me as I started to look at small details and focused in on the secretive nature of the Masons. In December 2006, I produced a personal project about my Dad and the ‘Afterlife’. I was very inspired by Butterflies (symbol for the afterlife) and made abstract photos of butterflies for a small book. In April 2007 I undertook a project about my Neighbours and their relationships with other people on my street ‘Tremayne Walk’. It was an exploration into families and relationships. I am interested in all types of photography but I would especially like to get into Portrait photography as I love people and photographing them.”
