John Hersey is a young enthusiastic photographer, living close to London. Inspired by contemporary colour documentary and portrait photography, a large amount of his personal practice is portraiture based, concerning identities and the relationship between himself, his subjects and their environment.
His experience in and out of the studio has involved learning a lot of different skills about lighting, directing, camera work and producing work in a group. In his personal work, John solely uses film and natural light, and favors traditional printing methods.
