Alex Bolton’s photographic work has mainly consisted of extended exposures to reveal un-populated cityscapes exploring the isolation and the beauty in symmetry that can be found in most constructed landscapes. Whilst putting the practise of photography under inspection; planning the route of excursions using satellite photography, or using powerful flashes to temporarily blind subjects involved in simple tasks.
The interest of his work is placing the photographer in the environment, the camera taking the presence or the viewer, and granting a vision that would otherwise be unattainable.
More recent work has been moving away from exteriors and more towards interpersonal relationships, focusing on personal experience.
More examples of work can be found on the website.
