photomonth – east london photography festival
will take place in October and November 2010. It is the largest photography festival in the UK and we welcome participants from all over the country and other parts of the world.
We are very keen to encourage emerging photographers and would be most grateful if you could circulate the attached information to your students/graduates and/or participate in photomonth as a college.

Art Partner Project

Interested in working with a person experiencing poverty to create art together?
Then take part in the Art Partner Project!
Why?
You’ll have the opportunity to work with a person experiencing poverty in your country to produce innovative photographs around the theme of (IN)VISIBLE.
Your image will be viewed throughout Europe as all eligible entries will be available on the Project’s website. A selection of entries will also be displayed as an exhibition in Brussels at the end of November.

Photoworks Fellowship 2011 British School at Rome

The British School at Rome and Photoworks invite applications for a Senior Research Fellowship in photography and lens-based media for April to June 2011.
The residency is for an experienced, mid-career photographer or media artist to spend three months in Rome. The Fellowship is designed primarily as a research opportunity, although the Fellow would be expected to submit a report of their achievements over the three months.
Proposals should outline how this particular context would benefit the applicant’s research.

IdeasTap & Magnum Photos launch new photographic award
IdeasTap, the arts charity, network and funding body for young people, has re-launched its website with an incredible new photographic award in conjunction with legendary picture agency Magnum Photos.
The IdeasTap Photographic Award offers the chance to win £10,000-worth of prizes, including £5,000 cash, £2,500 towards producing a photographic essay, a paid internship with Magnum Photos and a fully-funded trip to their New York offices.
This groundbreaking award is open to all IdeasTap members based in the UK aged between 16-30.
