Brighton Photo Fringe is the largest event of its kind in the UK. It offers artists from Brighton, the UK and abroad an opportunity to exhibit their work alongside the Brighton Photo Biennial.

The Holme Primary School - Headley, Bordon, Hampshire.

We require a student to work with Year 5 and 6 (9-11 years) on a photography based project during our Creative Arts fortnight, 16th – 27th June 2008. This is an exciting opportunity to work with motivated children in a pleasant village school.

We are able to offer assistance with travelling costs, but the position is unpaid. All applicants will be asked to supply personal details and undergo Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks as they will be working directly with children.

CALL FOR ENTRIES May 08:
new graduate show at The Photographers’ Gallery

The Photographers’ Gallery is organising its first annual exhibition of graduate and post-graduate photographic work from BA and Masters visual arts courses across the UK entitled freshfacedandwildeyed.

This group exhibition will take place across both galleries at 5 & 8 Great Newport Street from 20 June – 6 July 2008, and is open to anyone who has graduated from a visual arts course between 1 May 2007 and 31 May 2008, and for whom photography forms the main component of their creative practice.

We are accepting applications between 12 May to 21 May only through the Gallery website but for now people can find some summary information about the project in the ‘What’s On’ section at www.photonet.org.uk under ‘New Graduates Show’.

The Ian Parry Scholarship 2008

The Ian Parry Scholarship 2008 deadline is Friday 20th June 2008.

Ian Parry was a photojournalist who died whilst on assignment for the Sunday Times during the Romanian revolution in 1989. He was just 24 years old. The Scholarship was set up by Aidan Sullivan, then picture editor of the Sunday Times and Ian’s friends and family in order to build something positive from such a tragic death.

Each year we hold a competition for photographers who are either attending a full-time recognised photography course or who are 24 years old and under. Entrants must submit a digital portfolio of their work to our FTP and a brief synopsis of a project they would undertake if they won the award. Currently the prize is £3,000 towards their assignment and £500 to those awarded highly commended and commended.
